Rwitwika Bhattacharya

Founder & CEO

Rwitwika is the CEO of Swaniti Initiative, a social enterprise that delivers public services to the base of the pyramid. As CEO her role focuses on developing long-term growth strategies and formulating key partnerships with central and state government bodies. Prior to Swaniti, Bhattacharya was working at the World Bank as an Associate on Labor Market Issues. Her work experience includes working in firms like UNFPA and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. She is a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science from Wake Forest University.

Shantanu Agarwal

Director

Shantanu has deep expertise in Technology and Energy Domains. He has extensive experience in managing technology startups and product development process along with hands-on experience in operations management and business development/sales. Shantanu is also a partner at Energy Ventures and a co-founder of Hicor, a gas compression startup in United States. Shantanu has a B.Tech in Chemical Engg. from IIT Roorkee and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Daniel Flynn

Communications and Outreach Associate

Daniel is working on all aspects of Swaniti USA’s communications and outreach, including developing grant proposals and thematic briefs and expanding our partnership base. He previously worked a Senior Research Associate in the Global Nonprofits Practice for Perrett Laver, a leading executive search firm. He has experience working on community health and economic development programs while serving with the Peace Corps in rural Uganda, and holds a Masters of International Studies from DePaul University.

Our Team in India

Swaniti has more than 100 team members working across India, on policy, research, programs, and technical assistance on climate change, poverty reduction, women’s empowerment, health, education, and other sectors. We have staff embedded in states and districts across the country to ensure a last-mile transition to greener economies and growth. Our experts have gained experience working for state and national government offices, international non-profits, and multilateral organizations like the World Bank.
